On December 20, 2011, the Italian Cultural Institute inaugurated the library of the Institute, the second most relevant among the eighty-nine Institutes in the world with 34,000 books, named after Giuseppe Ungaretti, the Alexandria-born Italian poet.
Copies of Ungaretti's work translated into Arabic by the translator Adel El Siwi, were donated to the guests.The library is located in Sheikh el Marsafi St., Zamalek.
